Yard Mysteries

I’ll start this blog with an …. “I have absolutely no idea what these “things” are.”

The ones in this and the next picture were all found on the outside of the south window of my bedroom.

This one was on another window. Look close at the bottom end,  and you’ll see what looks like two eyes.

This one has me stumped. It’s too small to see the details of its head. It had two teeny eyes ringed with blue.

All these pictures were taken from inside the house. I’m assuming these were insects. I will post the blog again if I find out what these are … or if a reader knows.

Berry Eaters

I sat, working at the computer. The picture window to my left offers a view of our backyard.

The rain stopped. Bird activity increased on the cistern. The bird in the front is a cedar waxwing and the other a robin. Fruit that fell from the nearby hackberry tree attracted their attention.

Cedar waxwings travel in small flocks, looking for berries to eat. Their call is a faint high pitched whistle.

A Psykadelic Web

A  spider spun a psykadelic web in the pine tree in our backyard.

The morning light and the changing angles of the web reflected the web’s various colors.

Early morning colors created various decorative designs.

All the morning components came together, and the reflective colors displayed their simple beauty.
